FAQs

Application Process

Can I fill out an application online?
You can access the online application by clicking the “Apply Online” link at the top of every page, or simply click here.

License Agreement Term and Installment Fee Payments

Can I setup recurring payments?
Yes! Save time in the future and never miss an installment by setting up recurring payments. You just need a few minutes and your checking account or card info to setup payments. Click here to login to the Resident Portal and get started.

Do you send me a bill every month?
No, bills are not sent to residents each month, but you may see payment reminders posted around the property.

How can I make a payment?
We accept credit cards, debit cards and ACH payments online through our Resident Portal. We are unable to accept cash. We do not accept MITPay or Payroll deduction for payment.

When are installment fee payments due?
Installment fee payments are due on the 1st of every month per the payment schedule outlined in the license agreement.

Renters Insurance

Are there insurance requirements for signing a license agreement at the community?
Renters insurance is not required but highly recommended. Coverage for your personal belongings is not included as part of your License Agreement. Renters insurance can provide coverage for loss or damage to your personal belongings (including fire, theft, or natural causes).

You can obtain renters’ insurance coverage via American Campus Communities’ preferred insurance partner LeaseTrack.

Roommate Matching and Requests

Am I allowed to request a specific unit?
You can list your preferences on your profile card and housing application and we will do our best to place you in the unit that fits those requests. All requests are served on a first-come, first-served basis and are taken in order based on the date your license agreement was received.

Can I request specific roommates?
Yes! Our roommate matching program is powered by RoomSync–a roommate matching app. You will have the opportunity to create a personal profile, search, filter, chat and match with other residents who will be living in the community. You decide what matters most when narrowing down your search. Want a roommate with the same major? Prefer to live with someone who goes to bed early? You control your search and matching criteria to find the perfect roommate.

Do you have a roommate matching service?
Yes! You can search for and match with specific roommates in the RoomSync app. Change your mind? No problem! You can modify your matches if your preferences change up until the matching period close date.

When do I get the RoomSync Link?
You will receive an invitation link to create your RoomSync profile after you have signed your license agreement.

Parking Information

Is there parking available?
On-campus parking available through MIT Parking & Transportation Office.

Visitors/Guest Policy

Can my guests stay overnight?
Yes! You may have overnight guests for up to 3 nights in a 7-day period. Please see MIT Housing & Residential Services for additional information and details regarding guest policy

Change/Cancel Your Assignment

Can I cancel my assignment with Graduate Junction before move in?
Yes! You may cancel your license with Graduate Junction if a request for cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to your scheduled move in date per the license agreement. If you would like to request cancellation, please contact the Graduate Junction Licensing Center for additional information on how to complete this process.

Will there be any fees if I cancel my license with Graduate Junction?
If you choose to cancel your license with Graduate Junction, you may be responsible for fees in line with the policies of the MIT Housing & Residential Services. Please note, all cancellation fees will be assessed through our Resident Portal. We are unable to accept cash, and we do not accept MITPay or Payroll deduction for payment.

Can I transfer to a different unit at the property?
Eligibility for internal property transfers will be determined based on timing and unit availability. End of term transfers will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis and can be requested when renewing your license for the upcoming year. If you are looking to update your housing to accommodate a change in family status, please contact the Graduate Junction Licensing Center for additional information. Please note, all internal transfers will be required to pay a $200.00 transfer fee to offset the cost of turning over the apartment.

Termination

Can I terminate my lease after the move in date listed on my license agreement?
As a resident of Graduate Junction, you are responsible for the entire term of your license agreement. A termination request may be granted if documentation is provided to support an approved reason for early termination as detailed by MIT Housing & Residential Services policies. Formal requests for early termination must be submitted to Graduate Junction management at least 30 days prior to the requested termination date.

If you would like to request early termination, please contact the Graduate Junction Licensing Center for additional details.
